trick or treat
Heavy bars mark the beginnings and ends of words in the grid below. Before you can enter the answers to the clues into the grid, however, you must subject each one to a trick or a treat. Half of the answers involve a trick—one of the letters of the answer must be changed to a different letter—so, for example, TRICKS might become BRICKS or TRUCKS. The other half of the answers involve a treat—an additional letter added to the beginning, middle, or end of the word—so TREAT might become THREAT or TREATY. In each case, the result of the trick or treat is a new word.
